Review # 1 was written on 2011-01-25 00:00:00 Bobby Fairchid I'm not quite sure what to say about this book....but I will tell you I was blown away by a few of the stories these relayed. I attended public schools my entire pre-college life, and none of this stuff ever happened to me or anyone I knew. I was a little disappointed that they only mentioned two states in which a few of these incidents occurred in. I'm was hoping for the book to be a little more open, but such is life. However the book has made me aware that I will have to pay very close attention to what goes on at the schools my child ends up attending. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-05 00:00:00 Philip Rushton Obviously this book only tells of incidents that will make the reader uncomfortable. But as a former public school teacher I have seen variances of all the topics covered in this book - especially with teaching to the test (chapter 1), "building" self-esteem (chapter 3), and multiculturalism (chapter 7). I also have to say I did not read every episode written in this book; it was too disturbing. But this book made me extra grateful for the opportunity I have to homeschool my children! |
