I'm not quite sure what to say about this book....but I will tell you I was blown away by a few of the stories these relayed. I attended public schools my entire pre-college life, and none of this stuff ever happened to me or anyone I knew. I was a little disappointed that they only mentioned two states in which a few of these incidents occurred in. I'm was hoping for the book to be a little more open, but such is life. However the book has made me aware that I will have to pay very close attention to what goes on at the schools my child ends up attending.

Obviously this book only tells of incidents that will make the reader uncomfortable. But as a former public school teacher I have seen variances of all the topics covered in this book - especially with teaching to the test (chapter 1), "building" self-esteem (chapter 3), and multiculturalism (chapter 7). I also have to say I did not read every episode written in this book; it was too disturbing. But this book made me extra grateful for the opportunity I have to homeschool my children!
