Review # 1 was written on 2017-03-07 00:00:00 Renson De Castro Sobrino came to know Romero early in the latter's archiepiscopacy, and interacted with him throughout the remaining years before his martyrdom. The book collects essays and sermons dating from 1980, shortly after Romero's assassination, until 1990, in the wake of the assassination of Sobrino's Jesuit brothers and their housekeeper and her daughter. The book is a superb display of core themes of the theology of liberation. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-04-13 00:00:00 Gener Dapul A professor of mine calls Sullivan "The Catholic Church's authority on authority." He was my favorite author that I read on ecclesiology (the doctrine of the Church) last year - a Catholic with whom non-Catholics can easily engage and learn from on an issue where we tend to think (mistakenly in my opinion) that voices outside our own traditions are not very helpful. |
