Review # 1 was written on 2017-08-21 00:00:00 Drew Adams If Battle Royale was directed by Russ Meyer you'd have Battle Vixens - Its ultra violent high school martial arts with as much T&A and panty shots as humanly possible. If that's you're thing you're going to LOVE this. The manga itself is a bit disjointed and tricky to follow - we have flashbacks and switch character perspective without warning. I don't know I should hate this series but it has a certain something. I quite like the plot development in this volume where we learn that each Toushi is channelling an ancient warrior through their Magatama gem - and they are simply re-living previous battles/alliances & grudges so that the outcome to the tournament is already decided before they even begin. There's quite a bit of mileage in that idea. Far from my favourite manga series, but it is growing on me. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-03-25 00:00:00 Matthew Cooney This series continues to be an enjoyable, engaging read, although it is still difficult to follow in places. Shiozaki tosses in flashbacks with no warning, and it sometimes takes several panels to work out that the story has entered a flashback. The artwork maintains its consistent quality, but the level of fan service has increased a little. |
