From A-Z the reader learns about different facets of Jewish life. It is a book that shares a lot of ideas, some might suggest that there are too many ideas per page, but as with any reader, s/he should decide what the child is capable of and read accordingly. Reading this to a four year-old might require some abbreviation with a focus on the alphabet, but children who already know the alphabet, but are learning more about Jewish culture will find the ideas of interest. The illustrations are beautifully done and incorporate the letters into the pictures. B is for Bagels and the cutting board is the background and the bagels are the holes in the B. I would recommend this book to any one wanting to know some of the basics of Jewish culture.

I loved this book for many reasons, but my biggest reason being explains the Jewish religion in a way children can understand. It goes through the alphabet naming something that goes along with each letter. For example, G in this book stand for grandpa who is "wise for sure, because he reads daily from his prayer book" as you can see this not only gives us definitions but it explains the ideals that The Jewish hold. Such as how one comes to be wise in their old age. I really enjoyed reading this book and discovering things that I did not previously know about Jewish ideals, and culture.
