Review # 1 was written on 2015-05-27 00:00:00 Alyce Bunting This book teaches a system based on standard american, but in an amazingly accurate way. It is not a simple list of advanced conventions. It describes a complete system, tools to handle all bidding situations are described. All conventions and treatments are assembled in a way that each bid exclude the others and therefore you can get as much information from what your partner has bid than from what he did not bid. Additional tools created by Jerry Pottier have been added to glue the system together and handle some specific situations. You'll meet a lot of aggressive bidders at the table and this system also allows for good penalty doubles, thereby allowing to crush the opponents when it's right. This requires a lot of practice to become proficient, but it's well worth the effort. You'll know your partner's exact shape and size, and you'll often know the location of key cards, you might even know how to play the hand before bidding the final contract! After years playing this system my partner and myself still highly enjoy playing this system. I highly recommend this book to any partnership that has mastered standard methods and are looking for a precise and complete bidding system. Volume IV, the Expert American Bidding System, should be released soon and we are eager to see what tools Jerry and Chris have in store for us.

Review # 2 was written on 2010-04-24 00:00:00 Scott Gliem Excellent bridge book. Almost every page impressed me on what else I should know. Especially by adding extra points to my hand, so I can bid more aggressively and intelligently.
