Review # 1 was written on 2010-12-08 00:00:00 Douglas Allen Bad historian, bad book. It's a K-12 sort of history book that is written down to kids, I guess the thinking is that if they dumb everything up, kids will muddle through. The real result of course being most kids hate history. I was also shocked to see it wasn't written in the first part of the 20th century, but in the '90s. (Page 18 expounds on the good and bad parts about being a slave!) In the end, it's hard to say that Reger is anything other than a Confederate sympathizer and a lazy historian. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-04-23 00:00:00 Scott Mcdonald Again I didn't know this was a kid's book. Everything in it was stuff I already know, and it didn't suggest any book written in the middle ages that could be bought and read. |
