The average rating for The Gardeners A - Z Guide to Growing Flowers from Seed to Bloom based on 2 reviews is 3 stars.
Review # 1 was written on 2020-02-05 00:00:00 M Neville I am really hesitant to give this book three stars for one simple reason that is it looks and feels like a book from 1960 rather than the 2000s. The information on the 600 plants mentioned does not include photos! For any photos you have to go to the back in the photo gallery! How much money did that save the publisher? Well for the gardener trying to use this book it makes it much more difficult and cumbersome. Additional plant data is scattered into other sections as well. The one redeeming feature is the "Common to Botanic Name" index in the back. Otherwise there is very valuable data in this book it is just difficult to negotiate. |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-02-04 00:00:00 Tony Pope The Gardener's A-Z Guide to Growing Flowers From Seed To Bloom by Eileen Powell (Storey Publishing 2004)(635.9) is a comprehensive guide to sowing, growing, transplanting, and care of hundreds of common (and not so common) garden plants. The emphasis here is on culture rather than on photographs. My rating: 7.0, finished 4/10/12. |
