Review # 1 was written on 2009-12-01 00:00:00 Kristina Cox The Chester Chronicles was a wonderful novel - humorous, depressing, thought-provoking and a bunch of other things I simply cannot define. The main character, Chester Patterson, is a literary character who views his own life through the art, both film and literature, that he has experienced. Needless to say, I was not expecting such an intellectually challenging read from a first reads win. Just wonderful. |

The narrator's ruminations are sometimes hilarious, sometimes poignant, and often capture what's it's like to be doing things for the first time and to be excruciatingly aware of being alive. |
