The Battles of World War 1 is an amazing story that states the name of the battle and then informs the reader about the battles. The battles of the World War 1 were the bloodiest battles of all time. The summer before the war, all the different countries started preparing for the huge war by preparing their weapons and uniform. They also prepared their tactics. During the war, they had new technology which they used such as machine guns, rapid-firing rifles, and improved artillery. Millions of people were killed in this war and innocent families were killed also. When the war started, there was nothing that could stop it because the countries were so determined to fight. The most tragic part of the war was the millions of people that died needlessly. Thus, the war had major battles such as the battle of Marne, Tannenberg, Verdun, Somme, Gallipoli, Jutland, and battle of Ypres. The battle of Marne was the start of the war when German soldiers fought France. Germany was a country that feared fighting a lot because the country knew that it was impossible to win a war with strong enemies to its borders. France to the west and Russia to the east. In order to overcome this problem, German military planners developed the Schlieffen Plan. This plan called that German soldier quickly invade France and knock it out of the war and then focus on defeating the Russians. This would not work because France had heavy forts in the borders, so the Germans went through Belgium and then surprised France. After the plan was going well with the French, Germany realized that sweeping through Belgium was a very bad idea because it then brought to the war Britain. Britain had a treaty with Belgium that if any violation came to their land they would fight for them, which then brought to Germany a very powerful enemy. After the end of the battle, a huge amount of soldiers died. France had 250,000 losses and Germany similar, and Britain lost 12,733 soldiers. Despite the losses, France and Britain succeeded in stopping the Germans advancing into France. As the wars continue, German troops goes to attack Russia which is the battle of Tannenberg. Russia allied France and Britain, which made it harder for the Germans. The Russian troops were massive and many people thought that they could win the war easily, but their troops were poorly trained and equipped. Russia had two different forces, and both generals of the two forces hated each other and had a lack of communication. Because they were poorly trained, they made it worse because they used wireless radio transmission which were intercepted by the Germans. So the Germans knew exactly what Russia was planning to do. The Germans were led by General Paul Von Hindenburg that came up with an amazing idea which was to encircle the Russians. The trap worked and the Russian army started to collapse badly and many of its army were killed or wounded. The Second army were defeated and unable to fight. Later during the war, the Germans finished with the Second army, so they headed for the First army. They also surrounded them which worked and destroyed them. In conclusion, by 1916 the Germans defeated the Russians and controlled them.

This book was really horrifying. I didn't enjoy it because it talks about world war one. I enjoyed other books in the past about world war two so I wanted to see if I would enjoy reading about world war one. However I didn't enjoy it at all. I do not recommend this book however, I do recommend you to read about world war two. I give this book a star because as I said it was not appealing to me. If you enjoy the history of world war one then go ahead and read it.
