As the title suggests, this book is a collection of interesting and sometimes humorous factoids from the world of sports. Nearly all sports are represented, even karate, fishing and ballooning. The title is based on a misnomer regarding a rule change. When baseball outlawed the spitball, it was not a sudden, blanket ban. Pitchers that had it as part of their repertoire could use it for the remainder of their careers. Written for the YA market, this book will entertain the reader while providing several conversation points that will begin with, “Hey, did you know ….?”
