Review # 1 was written on 2019-10-25 00:00:00 Matthew Hughes A good book to read to learn more about life in Texas during the civil war. The husband is called to duty leaving his wife and several children in charge of their plantation near Anderson, Texas. This book consists of letters from the wife to the husband during the war. First person narrative about life in Texas in a860's. I found her letter's depressing and she complained so much that it was hard to read at times. |
