Review # 1 was written on 2009-09-20 00:00:00 Angelique Long Great book that illustrates creative and thought provoking ways to approach teaching history to students grades 5-12. By using strategies such as writing/creating diaries, journals, newspapers, travelogues, scrapbooks and election speeches, students are placed in the role of "eyewitness' to the historical events they are studying. Well-organized, easy-to-read and includes sample activities for different time periods and rubrics for grading. While the focus on this book is American history, most can be adapted to world history, ancient history and geography content areas as well.

Review # 2 was written on 2011-01-04 00:00:00 Ma Rocio Herrera This is a great book for history teachers! I wish I'd had it to read and learn from when I was still in the classroom. Lots of great ideas and really engaging strategies. Read it and use it!
