Usually I avoid reading New Age books like the plague, but this book is an exception. I read his other book on faeries and thought it was decent. So I decided to give this book a chance. What I love the most about this book is that it uses psychology and science to explain why past lives are possible in a clear and concise way. Andrews provides evidence instead of just claiming that it is real. The book contains exercises to distinguish the difference between imagination and actual memories. While How to Uncover Your Past Lives is written from a Christian point of view the book is not preachy and provides guided meditations. Andrews calls it self- hypnosis. Interestingly enough there is a section on pendulums that explained pendulums better in one chapter than a whole book on the subject. Andrews also explains what reincarnation is and how it has shaped certain cultures in the world, karma, and the difference between karmic relationships, "soulmates", and "twin-flames". Andrews lastly concludes with rites of passage such as birth and death. I think the best part of this book is that Andrews believes that people should take responsibility for their actions. Constantly blaming everything on "bad karma" or "bad energy" is simply an excuse. Actions have consequences. Free will still exists. Test everything until an answer can be found. Past lives should be used as a learning experience to become a better person and not to be obsessed over. All in all, I would recommend this to any person who wants to learn more about past-lives or to someone who has an open-mind.

I was hoping this book would be more helpful, but it is filled with speculative theories and opinions that can either be believed or not by the reader. I don't find any of the exercises to be helpful either, as the writer is coaxing you what to imagine, instead of allowing your own interpretation to be imagined.
