The first mate looks like wobbly jelly, He's sort of gaseous and he's smelly; He has an eyeball on his belly! The aliens are coming! This was one of my kids' absolute favorites, and what's not to love here - fun, occasionally gross, silly rhymes, and terrific brightly colored illustrations of cutely disgusting monsters. Oh, yeah!

A very good book, especially as a class read for a reception class. Read this book to a reception class and they loved it! The Aliens are coming to Earth and there is a lot of descriptions of how they are coming and what they look like. The fun pictures support this, and are a great visual resource. At the end, the Aliens are shown a picture of a class of 4 year olds, and they are too scared to come to Earth, my reception class really enjoyed this page, very relatable. They continued to ask questions after and laughed at many of the Aliens. The story is told through rhyming and repetition, making it a fun read and easy to follow. Bright colourful images really support the text and are enjoyable.
