A good secondary resource that contains practical advice for building and maintaining motivation, coping with urges, and living a balanced life. It does, however, fall a little short in area of managing thoughts and feelings. For the latter, I suggest "When AA Doesn't Work for You: Rational Steps to Quitting Alcohol" by Drs. Albert Ellis and Emmett Velten. Together, these two books provide a great foundation for an individual seeking a rational alternative to traditional 12 step recovery.

I LOVED the original two Prince of Persia games that we had on our old Mac when I was younger. This book was so much fun - it's a strategy guide but written as though it's fiction rather than in a straight forward, "go here" sort of way.
