FIT FOR A KING is my favorite of all my "Elvis" books. This book is overflowing with recipes, photos, inside information and wonderful, sweet memories. FIT FOR A KING was put together with thoughtfulness and sincerity. So many of the other books about Elvis are just an excuse to use his name and image. If you like music, food, nostalgia, and most of all, Elvis himself, then you will truly appreciate FIT FOR A KING. The foreword from Alvena Roy, Elvis' longtime cook, is touching, enlightening, and obviously written with great fondness. It concludes with Ms. Roy stating that she was retired and living in the home purchased for her by Elvis. Throughout the travels of his celebrated career, Elvis always stayed true to his roots and the foods and traditions of his family. With over 300 recipes, this book offers many delicious and appealing dishes that are easy to prepare. FIT FOR A KING: Southern Cooking...Southern Hospitality...Southern Charm.

I gave this to a friend a couple of Christmas's ago, after of course flipping through it extensively. It was interesting, but I wasn't inspired to copy any of the recipes down myself. She loved it though.
