Review # 1 was written on 2012-01-09 00:00:00 Hayley Timms This is definitely a good read for childfree/childless women. You have to get over the fact that the book was written 20 years ago in the 1990s, so some of the language used is outdated and the statistics quoted are dated, but the women's narratives are very much still relevant today. I found the interviews with childless women interesting and I liked how the author framed the various reasons for childlessness -- by choice, by circumstance, etc. It is a good read for women who chose not to have children as well as women who wanted children but were unable to have them for a variety of reasons. This is a good checkout from your local library; I wouldn't want to own it per se. |
Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-09 00:00:00 Alex Markle I really liked this book because it is one of the earlier books I've found on childfree women. It was really interesting and covered a wide range of childfree choices and situations from people who always knew they didn't want kids to people who dealt with infertility. I especially enjoyed reading the accounts of the elderly women and their experiences of growing old without children. I recommend this book to everyone. |
