Review # 1 was written on 2007-12-25 00:00:00 Mary M Ludington Sadly, the author of this version doesn't exactly understand what a play is. He nobly chose to preserve Dickens original without creating dialogue of his own. However, one can't just take a novel and stick characters' names every few words. Novels aren't plays, and they can't become so without some alteration. The joy of a play is that people can see what is going on, so they don't have to say everything about their actions or their setting. After time, I chose to ignore the names scripted to say things and just read the words they should have been saying. Great happy story--However, not the best version of it. |
