Review # 1 was written on 2009-02-12 00:00:00 George Harris I picked up this book on a whim this summer to help me thank friends and family for engagement gifts. I considered that it would be useful in the long run for wedding gift thank you notes as well. Sure enough, this book is essential. Though its topics are limited, it inspires the basics to compose a simple and heartfelt thank you note. If I were to change this book in any way, I'd add more 'template' notes for different types of gifts, like coffee makers, tea sets, and other common registry items. The thank you notes I've written using the advice from this book were perfect. Friends actually commented on the notes and wrote me thank you notes for my thank you notes! No kidding! There may be similar books that can do the same job, but the concept behind this book and the resource itself make this a useful item to have as a bride-to-be or recently wed couple.

Review # 2 was written on 2017-03-28 00:00:00 Douglas A Kelly After reading this book, I feel as though I know enough about lobbying to be able to have a greater appreciation for our legislative system, and a clearer answer to the question, "how do congressmen shape their views on positions?" The book is almost a step-by-step how-to guide to lobbying, complete with names of important textual resources, phone numbers, and addresses. One thing I realize after reading this book is how truly inaccessible the process is except to the extremely motivated citizen, which I would say is a strength of our system.
