A charmingly earnest set of book reviews by a nearly-extinct creature of the past: a literary librarian. Reminds me when you could go into a library and have intelligent conversations with the knowledgable person behind the front desk'or at least, kind-of, with the real card catalog. The judgmental criticism in the phrase still readable today makes me smile.
