Review # 1 was written on 2012-10-04 00:00:00 Gerry Mcguire It was a very refreshing look at Medal of Honor recipients, learning what they considered to be the most important things in their lives. Situations or people that molded them into the people they are today. Peter Lemon, a Medal of Honor recipient himself, does a great job in the layout of this book in that he compiled a very compelling and touching account of what was important to each individual that is told in their own words. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-06-27 00:00:00 Ace Jackson Cisco is undoubtedly pro-Southern, and as such the book is a bit one sided. There is no detailed discussion of the battles Gist fought. Yet, the writing is clear and crisp. Best part was Gist's role in secession. He presented a letter to the governors of Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana about what they would do if South Carolina left the union. Their answers undoubtedly were a major reason for South Carolina's fateful decision. |
