Review # 1 was written on 2013-06-09 00:00:00 Umberto Lanzafame Beauty of a book, in the veins of Adam Kuper. The only problem obviously being an edited book the shifts in tone is a bit disturbing, if one expects something along the lines of the work of Adam Kuper. But this book is in-disposable, puts forward a strong case to read some of these founding thinkers/texts to grasp question we are still struggling with. |
Review # 2 was written on 2018-09-21 00:00:00 John Sumner I guess it was ok as a school textbook, but right now I felt like the book had a lot of common sense ideas. The focus countries for each chapter are nice, but sometimes it lacked the global perspective that sociology textbook needs. Overall, it is a nice introduction book to sociology, but if you want some new information, it probably would not attract your attention. |
