I picked this up today at a sale and read it. Very short little book about the history of Wonder Bread written in 2007 - they weren't bankrupt at the time. Very Rah!Rah! Wonder Bread like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread - oh, wait - it IS sliced bread. Circa 1930. They had to stop slicing during the war years due to a shortage of steel. Now that was an interesting fact. There's lots of recipes in here for ways to use Wonder Bread. I don't personally buy/eat white bread but you could substitute healthier breads if you wanted to. But would you want to? I love the recipe that calls for taking a slice of bread, rolling it up into a ball, and then eating it. And then moving on to the next slice. . . Okay, as a kid I did have fun with Wonder Bread, I will admit it. I would like to have a copy of the cookbook they put out for the 1934 World's Fair as a lot of the recipes in here came from that. So, it's a nice slice of Americana, even if it's a slice that makes me cringe.
