Review # 2 was written on 2014-04-09 00:00:00 Fred Pride I used to love reading Dick King-Smith books when I was a wee dragonet, so when I had the chance to pick up this cute little book recently, I jumped at the chance. I also love tales about animals of any kind, so that was another attraction. Having said that, I haven't read any of Dick King-Smith books in about thirty years! And I wish I had read more, because I've rediscovered my love for his books. They're really funny and cute. Of course, probably most people know about Babe the Sheep-Pig, who features in an excerpt in this book as well as Max the Hodgeheg! My favourite story in this is Woolly, which is about a mammoth who lives with cave-people and who invents fire and fish and chips! :D hehe. Super stuff. That doesn't mean to say the other stories are bad in any way. They're not. I just love Woolly the most. The illustrations were really cute, too. This is definitely something I want to return to again and I am definitely going to try and get more of Dick King-Smith's books when I'm able to. Just as much because I love his stuff as for nostalgia's sake.
