This was an incredibly useful and insightful text that I used frequently throughout the course of my degree. It provides an array of approaches and theories discussing the potential place for philosophy in schools. Although adding a new subject into the curriculum is not always a favourable approach, this is not what is recommended here. It is rather the exploration of how philosophical enquiry can be integrated in schooling; to benefit existing curricula subjects as well as a child’s social and emotional development. For instance, philosophical methods can enhance a child’s ability to think for themselves, argue and support their point of view and contend with and listen to others. Crucially, these generated philosophical skills are accompanied by increased confidence and flair in the child’s learning experiences.

Basic understanding of philosophy - 3* Not the best for my assignment but a basic understanding and a nice 'glossy' book.
