Review # 1 was written on 2017-11-05 00:00:00 Ryan Hunt It was a once-a-year entertainment extravaganza that traveled to cities and towns of all sizes, transforming the ordinary daily routines into the extra-ordinary...at least for one day. This is a historical look at the American Circus from its early beginning to the modern mechanized giants, covering the many circuses that have come and gone, the menageries, parades, wagons, sideshows, and how it all moved day after day to the next town and did it all again. Throughout the book are hundreds of incredible B&W and color photos dating back as far as the 1800s...ornate tableau parade wagons, cages and animals, colorful advertising posters, the tents, rail cars, street parades, and the people that made it happen.
