Review # 1 was written on 2007-10-23 00:00:00 Edward Papesh Written in 1924 on an old typewriter in a style no longer used so it reads refreshing. My favorite are his "Don'ts" to the aspiring young violinist: 1. Don't pose. 5. Don't exercise your fingers without your mind. 6. Don't clown with your violin; you can clown without it. 13. Don't aim at art for art's sake, but rather art for life's sake. 14. Don't give up--just don't. |
Review # 2 was written on 2010-12-29 00:00:00 Thomas Dinges This collection of diverse voices is both generous and generative--and, what's more, highly engaging. |
