Review # 1 was written on 2019-04-01 00:00:00 Richard McClellan perfect for a parent that is looking to teach their kids about endangered species early on. my daughter loved this book as an infant and toddler because she could lift each of the flaps to find the animals and feel engaged in the story. |
Review # 2 was written on 2014-01-25 00:00:00 George Magalios I thought the text was entertaining both in subject matter and it the simple rhyme scheme. The animals are ones that kids will be interested in. The style of the illustrations, and indeed, the entire book design is very attractive- the colors are harmonious, the shapes are bold but are offset by the earth-toned textures. Unfortunately, this book doesn't work well for young kids as the pages are so muted that the illustrations are actually difficult to see with the recycled, unbleached brown paper and low contrast images. Nice message about sustainability too, but will require more information to make a firm connection between animals which are often seen in a zoo and environmentally correct actions. |
