Review # 1 was written on 2010-12-19 00:00:00 Luke Bondurant I enjoy reading this one. Public speaking is not just an easy thing. It involves practice and experience through time. This book may help in a way but still it's up to the speaker to learn how to stand up straight, face the audience and connect. Sometimes infront is a nerve racking experience but as we go along you'll just say "nice to see you all" with a practice smile 😊

Review # 2 was written on 2018-07-01 00:00:00 Harvey Bates This is the only Public Speaking text book I've ever read, but I found it to be rather good. It helped to give me ways of thinking about preparing a speech and understanding how to do it effectively. All of this will come with practice, which we get a little bit out of out of the class. Even without a class, I think there'd be benefit in reading it. The book teaches that the act of Public Speaking is about communicating to/with the audience. Everything else pretty much follows from that main point.
