Review # 1 was written on 2012-01-28 00:00:00 William Crowley Very well put together book that was informative and educational at the same time. The pictures varied between black and white and colored alternatively while they were very detailed. The chapters of the book gave the champion title and then mentioned underneath it, which animal had won it. You had the pictures of the animals within the chapter as well as a metric conversion of the numbers if you are into that then several paragraphs explaining myths about the animals (the ostrich doesn't stick its head in the sand), historical facts (cheetahs were once trained as pets), how things were done (flea circuses) and regular animal fact. The book also covered in some details what some problems that animals may face into today's world and the conversation steps that have or had been taken. For anyone into animal facts or a child just starting into the world of animals I would say this was one of the best that I have seen and read. I would highly recommend it but due to the age of the book I would also imply that some of the conservation methods may have been changed or the success stories may have been put in place so if a child or person is interested in that then I would suggest doing a bit of research for the more updated information in those regions. |
