Review # 1 was written on 2013-09-21 00:00:00 Kevin Barry This is one of my go-to books for decorating ideas. The focus is on window treatments, and they've got good examples of many styles, but it's also instructive to look at the rest of the photo for inspiration on colors, furniture, etc. This is primarily a picture book, with beautiful full-color photos. There's nothing in here that will help you make your own curtains if you don't already know how, but for most people who are just looking for ideas about what to buy, I recommend this book.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-05-06 00:00:00 Timothy Tremaine For those with a crafty bent and not too much imagination, this is the perfect book. Yep, you can make stuff out of stuff you find. It's just that none of this is too interesting and the stuff that is, well, all I can say is that those gals must be scrounging in some pretty upscale neighborhoods. Perhaps the fact that one worked for Martha Stewart Omnimedia and the other did something equally as lucrative should serve as a warning to the rest of us plebes. Sure, anyone can make a delightful mirror frame from the driftwood they've collected while walking on the beach in front of their Maine home, but what about picture frames from discarded syringes, crack vials and used condoms. Oh wait, I'm giving away all my best ideas for my coming crafty book...
