Review # 1 was written on 2013-06-29 00:00:00 Mr Alcock Written very much in the style of a "For Dummies" type of book, this guide provides an excellent, concise, broad-stroke overview of Eastern philosophy and religion. The manner in which the content is divided, categorized, and laid out is particularly helpful from the Western perspective, as many Eastern traditions can sometimes seem to be all over the place by our lights. This book covers Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism, Jainism, Tantra, Zoroastrianism, Sikhism, and Shinto. A super useful and interesting primer. 4.5/5 |
