Review # 1 was written on 2012-01-19 00:00:00 Amy Johnson I finally reached the volume where the horribly cruel Assyrian empire crumbled to dust. It is interesting in this volume seeing the amount of influence Egypt had on Greece. I was unaware that the Greeks, for a long time were settled, trading in, and performing mercenary service for Egypt. I was also unaware that, despite the celebrated defense of Greece by the Athenians and Spartans against the Persians, both eventually signed treaties with Persia.

Review # 2 was written on 2015-06-11 00:00:00 Terry Paquette This book is basically a collection of articles dated up to 1877. Not very interesting, unless you're extremely interested in the personal sides of some stories you may have heard about developing people back then.
