Excellent blend Tess Collins wrote a gripping tale that blends the mystical with the mysterious. I recommend reading the trilogy from the beginning to the end. I wish there were more stories about Alma and her family as I have come to know and love them. The stories were written in the late 1990 and early 2000's and when Ms Collins reprinted them she left them in their original time frame and that's okay. It is fun to read about phone booths and the original car phones. The characters are well developed and some you want to invite to your bbq and some you want to help hide the body. Don't try to read these books when you have other things to get done, it will be a hard choice which one gets done.

This is the last book in the series of three. By mistake I read it first. I finished it a few days ago and now that I have read the other two books I am back to review this one. You don't have to read all three but you get the benefit of knowing the full story if you do. The stories are all about the life of Alma and her family in the mountains of Kentucky and Tennessee. She was raped as a teen and left to live in California and became an attorney. The characters in the books are wonderful. Great job Mrs Collins!
