Review # 2 was written on 2019-12-07 00:00:00 Christopher Dowling This book paints an overly rosy vision of the Internet. I recognize that, when the book was written, we all thought techno-utopia was just around the corner, but certainly by the second edition we all knew better. Her work focuses too much on the ideal outcome and tends to gloss over some of the real challenges facing technology these days. A decent introduction to the impact of the Internet on society but there are much better books out there ("Code 2.0" etc). |
