For the quantity and quality of writing this book makes more modern histories look like bad value for money! I tend to turn to this book to give me a solid overview before subsequently reaching for a more modern and scholarly edition. This is a pleasantly sized book, of approx.. 175mm (h) x 115mm (w) x 45mm (b). Dark red cloth cover.
