Rather like an "Assists for Illness and Injuries" merit badge book. One has to filter and re-orient much of the Scientology thread, but after that there are some very valuable techniques that have great merit and benefit. The book is written from a Western perspective about healing mystic practices. From an Eastern perspective this is not as different as one might think. The real missing part is the absence of greater perspective and detail. Perhaps this is included in other parts of the Scientological spiritual practice, but the reminder cannot say. What is presented is very basic, but quite useful for all that. One can pursue other disciplines and still benefit from the content of this book. Always good to accept help where one finds it. One of the themes of the book as well as outside.

"The Dangerous Duty of Delight" is essentially a short, well packaged and condensed version of Piper's classic, "Desiring God". It highlights well the solid, Biblical foundation of what Piper calls Christian Hedonism, of which I've come to find to be a massive asset in fighting sin. Christ must be sought after and enjoyed more than the desires of the flesh. It's not an easy fight, but Piper helps us see it a little more clearly, all throughout his ministry. This short book is well worth your time.
