Review # 2 was written on 2013-08-14 00:00:00 Joseph Calabro George Eliot is one of my favorite Victorian authors. This book gives a series of character studies and I found it so intriguing and educational about the types of people that she presumably encountered in her circles of enlightened thought. I especially liked the character study of a woman who had written one book and the reviews of that book were all she ever seemed to talk about the rest of her life.
