Review # 1 was written on 2016-09-28 00:00:00 Dennis Cox Maybe one has to collect enough life to like Tranströmer's poems or maybe the poems are for days like these endless work and a poem the only consolation a gondola full of sorrow, but still a gondola!

Review # 2 was written on 2009-08-04 00:00:00 Christopher Stevens Tranströmer's poetry feels personal on a level I can't appreciate. I like some of his turns of phrase ("a tremendous insult is slipped over your head like a sack"), but the poems are short to the point of feeling incomplete.
