Review # 1 was written on 2012-12-28 00:00:00 Stephen Calabretta I was checking out GoodReads reviews of Dawes's memoir A Far Cry from Plymouth Rock: A Personal Narrative and saw Progeny of Air mentioned in one review. So glad the reviewer did! I really enjoyed this. It's the first poetry collection I've ever read. This along with Bernardine Evaristo's Lara have completely opened me up to the possibilities of poetry; I'd never really considered storytelling with poetry in the way Dawes has done with this collection.

Review # 2 was written on 2008-07-31 00:00:00 Curtis Golladay These poems are incredible. My favorites are the chapters "Singing Stories" and "Hall of Fame," in which Dawes describes characters from his education at Jamaica College.
