Review # 1 was written on 2013-02-04 00:00:00 Alfredo V Montenegro I read this book because my Grandfather was the Navigator in a Mosquito during WWII. He missed the battle of Britain, but he made it for D-Day and flew a diversionary mission on the Damn Busters campaign. Later he switched to aerial reconnaissance. While the book itself was interesting for what it was, it was not really the type of book that I would normally be drawn to. There was no continuous narrative detailing the existence of the Mosquito as it was used throughout the war. Instead each photograph, which were all pretty cool, simply had a caption showing what happened to that specific plane. It didn’t hold interesting stories about specific air missions, or numbers of Nazi bastards shot down, but was a rather bland description about the nuts and bolts of the aircraft. If you are into that sort of thing, this book is for you. For my part, it was okay. |
