Review # 1 was written on 2013-09-25 00:00:00 Vanessa Velez This is perhaps the definitive overview of bird sampling. Extremely comprehensive, it covers most conventional sampling methods and explicitly lists the assumptions, typical procedures, advantages, and disadvantages of each. It doesn't shy away from the issue of detectability bias, though it doesn't go into depth on that topic (I recommend Buckland's book for that), which is an important consideration that other similar publications tend to gloss over (Ralph 1995, Verner).

Review # 2 was written on 2012-12-18 00:00:00 Robyn Liddell I don't know why I developed an interest in moas, but I did. Maybe it was that strange Nickelodeon cartoon in the 80's where all the little koalas get sucked up in a space ship in the last episode. Who knows? I found this book to be highly informative. The writing was fine, and the illustrations were wonderful.
