As a quick, high level overview of how to create a strategic plan for a non-profit this is a sturdy and reliable book. It, however, does not go in-depth around strategic planning, though it does incldue a very helpfu CD-ROm with worksheets and tools that can be effectively used. Overall, I think this is ideal for someone trying to get a quick snapshot of information before proceeding - and it succeeds at that. Despite the fact that it took me nearly 6 months to finish, it is a quick well-organized read, that also makes for a useful reference as each section has a detailed title and heading. I found the lack of information about how to communicate about a strategic plan frustrating - as in my experience the communication aspect (terms, what terms mean, perception, framing what's happening, sending out and providing information) is most challenging and difficult in creating a plan.
