This is not a guide book but a story of the peoples, settlement and economy of the upper Great Lakes, from Native Americans, French explorers and fur trappers to 20th-century entrepreneurs. Nice historic photographs, artwork and color photos enrich the text.

Review # 2 was written on 2019-09-13 00:00:00 Mike Scott I purchased this book on vacation in Macinac Island at the Fort Macinac gift shop & it really helped me understand the history of this wonderful place & how it intertwines with every significant period of American history.
