The average rating for Robert Guthrie - The PKU Story: Crusade Against Mental Retardation based on 2 reviews is 3 stars.
Review # 1 was written on 2011-05-23 00:00:00 Brian Pritchett This is a book about Guthrie, not about PKU, or even focused on his scientific achievements. There was a whole chapter about the family's trip around the world from one year. Interesting if you are interested in Guthrie, but it had nothing to do with "the PKU story." |
Review # 2 was written on 2015-02-10 00:00:00 Brian Kidd This was a very memorable book. I would enjoy reading it a second time! I actually purchased the book by mistake; thinking, from the title, that Noah Hutchings was writing something on last days prophecies. I didn't catch the play on words in the title until I sat down to read it! Had I thought the book was autobiographical, I would not have purchased it. But it was a happy mistake! Noah Hutchings has lived an amazing life! It's wonderful how much he remembers, and how humbling it is to see the challenges and fortitude of his generation. In that sense, it is the story of our country in the last century, through the lense of one life. It is also an adventure story of living by faith. I think we can all draw strength from the experiences he shares. I feel like Noah Hutchings has compacted several lifetimes into one life; and he is still on the job every day! A remarkable man and an amazing life! There is so much in it to benefit all of us. |
