Review # 1 was written on 2016-01-17 00:00:00 Andrew Crystal This book covers some spectacular country in the Southern Sierra Nevada range of California. My favorite hikes described in this book are the Rae Lakes loop out of Kings Canyon (my recommendation is to take the northern direction first) and the Silver Pass hikes out of Lake Edison (take the boat across the lake!). I have a goal of hiking Mt. Whitney, but I've thus far never won the lottery necessary to obtaining a wilderness permit.

Review # 2 was written on 2010-12-06 00:00:00 Colin Walsh One can never own enough backpacking guides, in my humble opinion. The more guide books, the more trips one can plan! I've used this guide to help plan trips on the Eastern Sierra in the Hoover Wilderness above Twin Lakes and in the Ansel Adams Wilderness near Devil's Postpile.
