Review # 1 was written on 2016-01-17 00:00:00 Jackson Lee I have set a goal of doing individual hikes that will allow me to cover the entire California section of the Pacific Crest Trail. I have completed many of these hikes in the Cascade sections of Northern California and in the northern Sierra Nevada sections between Lake Tahoe and Yosemite. Obviously, there is still much to cover, and this book is a very helpful planner for such a goal. I especially found helpful the sections that cover the Mexican border to Highway 178 in Southern California; this is the area I have least explored. |
Review # 2 was written on 2012-12-23 00:00:00 Brandon Gorte Many guidebooks boast as being informative, but few can claim to be comprehensive and entertaining. Douglas Lorain has opened mysterious doors into the wild unknowns of Washington state. His clever illustrations and hilarious commentaries foisted this guidebook into the shelf consisting only of pure literary golds. |
