Review # 1 was written on 2011-01-27 00:00:00 Diane Lafollett I got two books out of the library on backpacking cuisine. This was the more useful of the two. It focused less on car camping and gave really detailed tips on food storage and safety. The recipes were pretty good. The next time we go camping there will be more than cup noodles for dinner.

Review # 2 was written on 2013-02-08 00:00:00 Curt Synness This book includes an interesting section on the natural history of Yosemite and excellent trail descriptions from what we could tell. We hiked and camped on one less-popular trail and it was useful to have some of the descriptions and landmarks as described in the book (because we only talked with a volunteer ranger who was unfamiliar with the trail). The descriptions of the popular hikes we did were also interesting and accurate- it was awesome to know the names for some of the wildflowers we saw.
