There's a lot of good in here about the necessity for Christians to get along. A few things bring the rating down a bit: first, the style...while he is enthusiastic, rightly, about what he writes, every sentence does not need to end with an exclamation point! Used continually the exclamation point loses its power over time! Secondly, he is calling for both an inclusiveness and an exclusiveness that do not really seem to fit...he has certain lines in the sand that he mentions in the book that would end fellowship, though they do not fit into his six categories of essentials. How to handle this? All in all it's a good book, as its chapters are short and easily digestable.

A friend recommended reading this book which is loosely about the founder of the Christian Church/Church of Christ. I don't know enough about Alexander Campbell to know which parts of the book are fact and which are fictionalized. I did find it harder to read at the beginning but it got easier as the story established itself.
