Review # 1 was written on 2020-12-05 00:00:00 Damien Backhouse PLEASE NOTE: The cover page and description are not of the book My Father's Love. I read this book at a time when I was struggling to understand & picture God as a father. My childhood experiences were more the standard of how I related with Him. I had kind of normalized the distance thing & left Him out there in space or something like that!!! But despite this normalization, a deep hunger for love and being known despite my past lingered. And as you would know it, I tried all the things that many often try to fill that void : food, shopping, relationships etc…but yeah!!! To no benefit. Reading this book put me on the track of awareness of why I related to God as I did and His posture toward me. It helped me understand how He is a Father in the midst of past, present, & future situations that color our lives. It helped me see a glimpse of Abba as He truly is.
